Child Safety Standards
Our commitment to a safe and clean experience
Scope
This policy explains WatchBuddy's child-safety approach across web and mobile surfaces, including rooms, chat, profiles, discovery flows, and social interactions.
Zero Tolerance Policy
WatchBuddy has a zero-tolerance policy against CSAM and child abuse. Using our service for such illegal purposes is strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Content and Behavior
The following content and behavior are strictly forbidden:
- Any CSAM or sexual exploitation material involving minors
- Grooming, manipulation, or exploitation attempts toward minors
- Illegal sharing or redirection that puts child safety at risk
- Threats, extortion, harassment, or doxxing of minors
- Re-uploading or aiding distribution of prohibited material
Prevention Approach
We aim to reduce risk through room moderation, report/block flows, invite controls, and abuse signals across social surfaces.
Parental Supervision
WatchBuddy is intended exclusively for users aged 18 and older. By accessing or using WatchBuddy, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. Your continued use of the platform constitutes a binding declaration to that effect. Use of WatchBuddy by persons under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited under any circumstances, including where a parent or guardian is present or provides supervision. Should a parent or guardian choose to use WatchBuddy in the presence of a minor, the parent or guardian must register and log in using their own account. All supervisory and legal responsibility for any use of the platform rests exclusively with the authenticated account holder.
Our Safety Standards
We follow these principles to keep the service safe across rooms, chat, profiles, discovery surfaces, and provider sharing:
- Sharing illegal or child abuse material through our service is never allowed.
- WatchBuddy does not host or index media content; users remain responsible for the sources they share and the social/profile data they choose to expose.
- In case of detection of illegal use, we reserve the right to report to the relevant authorities.
Reporting and Notification
Users can report child-safety violations or inappropriate behavior directly from room, profile, and social flows in the app.
How to Report
Use the in-app "Report User" flow, block or remove unsafe users where available, or contact the developer directly.
Review Workflow
Reported incidents are handled with the following steps using available room, profile, and moderation context:
- Initial triage and policy classification
- Immediate temporary controls when risk appears credible
- Technical/contextual review of available evidence
- Decision: removal, restriction, or authority escalation
Authority Escalation
For severe or urgent child-safety risks, we may cooperate with relevant authorities and disclose necessary records in line with applicable law.
Possible Enforcement Actions
Depending on severity, one or more actions may apply:
- Content or source removal
- Room-level mute/kick/permission restriction
- Temporary or permanent account/device blocking
- Legal escalation and formal reporting where required
Evidence and Record Handling
For child-safety incidents, necessary technical records, report metadata, room identifiers, and related moderation evidence may be retained in a limited and secure way for legal and investigative purposes.
