Acceptance of Terms

By using WatchBuddy, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility and Age

By using the service, you accept, represent, and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement under your local law. Minors must not use the service, even under parent/legal guardian supervision; otherwise, you acknowledge that full legal responsibility rests with you. If there is any part of the app or its legal obligations that you do not accept, please do not use the app.

Service Description

WatchBuddy is a synchronization product. We do not host media content. Depending on the surface you use, signed-in accounts can sync profile data, favorites, history, provider preferences, friends, discoverability, and room invites across devices. The platform is a technical tool intended to synchronize playback across clients; it makes no warranty or guarantee regarding technical issues such as whether content plays, buffering, freezing, or cross-client synchronization inconsistencies.

Account and Room Usage

Guest access is supported. If you sign in, you are responsible for keeping account/profile details accurate, choosing appropriate discoverability settings, and all activity performed through your rooms, invites, and social surfaces. For this reason, please carefully review all your settings before using the service.

User Responsibility

Please use the service lawfully and respectfully:

• You are responsible for the legality of the content you watch
• Respect other users' privacy, boundaries, and consent
• Do not misuse room controls, invites, profiles, reports, or discovery features
• Comply with your local laws

Unacceptable Use

The following actions are prohibited:

• Sharing, directing to, or promoting illegal or clearly infringing content
• Disrupting service operation, scraping profile/provider data, reverse engineering, or attempting unauthorized access
• Harassment, threats, stalking, spam, or hateful conduct
• Impersonation, privacy abuse, or misuse of another person's account, identity, or room
• Distributing malware, phishing links, or unsafe providers
• Abusing reports, invites, moderation tools, or child-safety workflows
• Sharing, promoting, or distributing objectionable content of any kind

Privacy and Data Visibility

By default, every new WatchBuddy user's history, favorites, and friend list are created as PUBLIC. You can change these settings from within the app at any time (requires Premium subscription). Furthermore, if you opt into the 'People Discover' feature, this data will be visible to other users. Similarly, rooms you create on the platform are public by default (visible in Party Discovery / Public Rooms); if you wish to keep your room private, you must configure password and privacy settings individually for each room during or after creation.

Content Moderation & Zero Tolerance

WatchBuddy maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. This includes, but is not limited to, content that is hateful, violent, sexually explicit, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful. Abusive behavior toward other users—including harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech—will result in immediate account suspension, blocking, or permanent ban. Users may report objectionable content or abusive users directly within the app or via our contact channels. All reports are reviewed promptly.

Subscriptions, Payments, and Refund Policy

WatchBuddy Premium and other in-app purchases are processed through Google Play Store and Apple App Store billing systems. All subscription renewals, cancellations, billing, and potential refund requests are strictly subject to the applicable terms and refund policies of the respective store (Google Play / Apple App Store). In the event of account suspension, restriction, or permanent ban resulting from a violation of the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use, or Community Guidelines, no refunds will be provided by the developer, and no claims for compensation may be made.

Content Responsibility

WatchBuddy does not host media content. User-provided URLs, room titles, chat, social profile activity, and provider choices remain the responsibility of the users who submit or expose them. We may review related metadata when required for safety, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

Intellectual Property

WatchBuddy software, branding, and interface assets belong to their respective rights holders. Unauthorized copying or redistribution is prohibited.

Moderation and Enforcement

For safety, abuse prevention, privacy complaints, or legal compliance, we may remove content references, limit room/account access, disable social visibility, block providers, or retain relevant records for review.

Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. To do so, open the app and navigate to Home → Miscellaneous (⋯) → Delete Account. Account deletion is irreversible and removes all profile data, history, favorites, friends, and social activity linked to your account.

Disclaimer

WatchBuddy is provided "as is." We do not control third-party content, plugins, providers, or external services, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any room or social feature.

Limitation of Liability

WatchBuddy is not liable for damages arising from use of the service or third-party content. Please be mindful and exercise care regarding what you share and how you conduct yourself.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of these terms may give rise to personal legal liability on your part.

Termination

Access may be limited, suspended, or terminated without prior notice in cases of severe policy breaches, safety or privacy risks, fraudulent behavior, or technical/legal requirements.

Governing Law

In the event of any legal dispute arising from the WatchBuddy application, the courts of Istanbul, Republic of Turkiye, shall have jurisdiction.

Violation Notice Process

For rights, privacy, safety, or legality complaints, please include the following information:

• Reported URL, room ID, profile, or provider reference
• Ownership, authorization, or affected-right explanation
• Clear description of the violation and requested action
• Valid contact details for response and follow-up

Changes to Terms

WatchBuddy reserves the right to make changes to these terms of use. We may update these terms from time to time in accordance with all applicable legal obligations. Changes will be published here regularly. By agreeing to use the app and its services, the user accepts these legal obligations. If the user rejects these obligations, they must stop using the app; otherwise, they will bear full legal responsibility themselves.
