Account Deletion

Overview

WatchBuddy respects your right to delete your account and personal data. When you delete your account, most of your data is immediately and permanently removed from our systems. Some data may be retained for legal compliance, moderation, and security purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

How to Delete Your Account

Account deletion is performed directly within the WatchBuddy mobile app. Follow these steps:

1. Open the WatchBuddy mobile app and sign in
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the home screen
3. Tap the Miscellaneous button (⋯)
4. Tap the "Delete Account" button and confirm your choice

Your account deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Data Permanently Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is immediately and permanently removed:

• Your social profile (name, profile photo, bio, and preferences)
• Your room history and participation records
• Your saved favorites and history
• Your friend connections and social network
• Your chat messages and room activity

Data That May Be Retained

For legal compliance, moderation, and security purposes, we may retain the following for a limited time:

• Audit logs (anonymized) for security and abuse prevention
• Moderation records if your account was involved in violations or reports
• Data required by law (such as data subject to legal hold or regulatory obligations)

Retained data is stored securely, not linked to your profile, and automatically deleted after the required retention period (typically 90 days, or longer if required by law).

Account Deletion is Permanent

Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use WatchBuddy again.
